- Participants will become competent in identifying the sonoanatomy of various portions of the gastrointestinal tract, and combine this knowledge with instruction on steps to performing novel gastrointestinal point-of-care ultrasound examinations with the goal of applying these skills to enhance bedside diagnosis and treatment of patients presenting with gastrointestinal emergencies
- Discuss the presentation and management of selected toxins that target organs in the gastrointestinal system
- Understand the indications for endoscopy in iron toxicity and the indications for chelation
- Summarize the observed adverse effects of GLP-1 agonists such as sumagliptide

- Identify current best-practice approachesto patients suffering from severe, life-threatening gastrointestinal bleeding in the Emergency Department

- Master pediatric appendicitis through a discussion of the different scoring systems available
- Review current imaging recommendations and a brief summary of current management recommendations
1100-1130 - Inflammatory Bowel Disease Complications - Kelsey Green, MD (ACMC EM)
- Define inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) relapse, identify which patients with IBD are in need of imaging and which imaging modality would be most beneficial, provide an optimal treatment plan for patients with IBD relapse and finally consider other specific complications associated with IBD
